The Mindfulness Clinic in Chatelaine Magazine - May 22, 2012
This month’s issue of Chatelaine has a feature on mindfulness meditation. The article quotes The Mindfulness Clinic’s founder, Dr. Kelly, on the purposes of meditation.
“Meditation’s main purpose is to help people ‘tune in and sense experience and really be presentwith themselves,’” explains Dr. Kelly. This is particularly helpful for people experiencing depression or anxiety, though there are general health benefits of meditation as well.
The article goes on to describe different types of meditation and their benefits. It covers mindfulness yoga, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), transcendental meditation and loving-kindness meditation, with some brief instructions on how to get started.
