One-day Compassion Workshop with Laurisa Dill, M.Ed.

Compassion Workshop (video)
Video transcript
Hi my name is Laurisa – I am a therapist here at the Mindfulness Clinic. You may be watching this video because you are wondering how learning compassion can help you. If you come to my one day workshop I will teach you how compassion can help you improve your mood and have more positive experiences in your life. In this work shop I will show you how self-compassion can help you overcome shame and doubt and how to motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism. Learning self-compassion will help you to recognize your own suffering and pain and deal with difficult feelings with greater ease. Compassion includes having mindful balanced awareness so that you can be less overwhelmed with intense emotions. Some of the methods that I will teach in this one day workshop are based on principles from mindfulness meditation. You do not need to have any experience with mindfulness meditation. In some parts of the workshop I will guide you through reflections and meditations that you can use to help you in difficult times. Other exercises in the one day workshop will include written reflections and gentle yoga postures. The workshop will be 6 hours long with a lunch break in the middle of the day. When you complete the workshop you will have a clear understanding of how to use compassion practices in your daily life to help you feel better, improve your relationships, and have greater emotional resilience. Please call us at the Mindfulness Clinic if you are interested in signing up for this workshop. I hope to see you there.
