Teen Therapy Toronto - The Mindfulness Clinic

Teen Therapy

Are you looking for an effective therapist who knows how to help teens? You have come to the right place. Here are some of the issues and problems that our therapists can help with.

  • Anxiety, depression, social phobia, or stress.
  • Low self-esteem.
  • Relationship problems. Feeling overwhelmed because of friendship or romantic problems.
  • Problems at school such as being bullied or harassed, or poor grades or attendance because of anxiety, depression or stress.
  • Trauma caused by a sexual assault.
  • Grief because a loved one has died or moved away.
  • Questions about sexual identity or sexual activity.

Teens are often extremely shy or embarrassed about their symptoms or problems and they may be reluctant to reach out to a therapist for these reasons. Our therapists understand this hesitation and they are very good at helping teens feel safe and supported.

We offer several kinds of help. Teens can come for one-on-one therapy sessions with a counsellor or therapist. Sometimes, with the teen’s consent, it can also be helpful for one or both parents to sit in on a session. There is also the option of family sessions with the teen and other family members working together to solve a problem. Usually teen therapy is based on one-on-one therapy sessions. Our therapists also offer the other options when some extra help could speed up or improve the therapy.
